Dear Democracy Defenders,

Together in 2025, our new community marched, tabled, canvassed, picketed, wrote postcards, and more. Looking back brings profound gratitude for the community built and the work accomplished together.

As the year draws to a close, we encourage you to prioritize rest and well-being. As Audre Lorde, a Black, lesbian, mother, warrior, and poet, radically proclaimed, caring for oneself “…is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”

As you are able, take time to recharge and reconnect with what anchors your activism.

May the new year bring rest, renewal, and community.

In solidarity,

WDDP Leadership

P.S. The WDDP weekly newsletter will be on pause and resume in 2026. Happy New Year!

Save the date! Member meeting on January 11

Mark your calendars for our first member meeting of the year on January 11, 2026!

Kick off the new year of action with Ryan Sendelbach from Dane Dems, who will participate in a listening session on 2026 activities.

At the January meeting, we will also discuss new ways to engage and activate throughout the year.

Resource: We have yard signs!

Pick up a yard sign at our January meeting to help spread our message and boost visibility for democratic values. Display it in your yard, window, or anywhere it can spark conversation.

Not able to attend the January meeting? Email us to schedule a yard sign pickup at a convenient time.
